KICK BACK IN FITZGERALD FOR A WEEKEND OF  SOUTHERN CHARM, CULTURE, AND WILD BURMESE CHICKENS!

njoy a laid back bicycle getaway weekend in and around “The Colony City” of Fitzgerald which was founded and developed in a spirit of collaboration by Union and Confederate veterans. Pedal our three routes through historic districts in town (look out for the wild chickens!) and out into the farmlands and fields of the countryside. Ride from downtown Fitzgerald to the Jefferson Davis Historic Site on beautiful rural roads past orchards, pastures and cropland. Restore your spirit on a Fitzgerald Bicycle Getaway Weekend!

Fitzgerald is ready to welcome you 20 miles off  I-75 in South Central Georgia for a weekend of exploration and relaxation with museums including the Blue and Gray Museum, beautiful downtown buildings and neighborhoods, local restaurants, lodging (including a fabulous B&B, The Dorminy-Massee House) and a very friendly attitude.  Tap your toes at the free Colony City Opry on Saturday night ‐ “Music For The People, By The People.”

Visit during Fitzgerald’s Harmony Jubilee (hot air balloons in November) and Wild Chicken Festival (celebrating Fitzgerald’s signature fowl in March) for an added treat. Whenever you decide to go we hope you enjoy your travels and relaxation on the Fitzgerald weekend.
